Hospital Indemnity Insurance, administered by Aetna, pays benefits when you have a planned or unplanned hospital stay for an illness, injury, surgery, or if you are having a baby. The plan pays a lump-sum benefit for admission and a daily benefit for a covered hospital stay. You can use the cash benefits to help pay for out-of-pocket medical costs or personal expenses. Benefits are paid regardless of any other insurance you have.
- If you elect coverage in the Basic Plus medical plan, you will be automatically bundled with this supplemental benefit
- If you do not enroll in the Basic Plus plan, you can elect Hospital Indemnity Insurance as a separate benefit when you enroll as a new hire or during Open Enrollment
- You may enroll your eligible dependents
Submitting an eligible hospital indemnity claim is easy, because both medical and Hospital Indemnity Insurance coverage are provided through Aetna. Simply initiate an online claim and Aetna will take care of the rest. Even if you don’t have Broadridge medical coverage, you can still submit an online hospital indemnity claim with Aetna.
