The Basic Plus has the lowest paycheck deduction, however, your out-of-pocket costs when you get care may be higher for certain services, such as inpatient services and non-generic prescriptions. If you enroll in this plan, you must use Aetna in-network providers – there is no benefit when you use out-of-network providers (except for true medical emergencies).
In addition, you’ll automatically receive an Aetna Hospital Indemnity insurance policy that offers additional financial protection if you or a covered dependent are hospitalized.
The Basic Plus plan may be a good option to consider if you do not typically have a lot of medical expenses during the year and you stay in-network for non-emergent care.
If you enroll in the Basic Plus plan, you can receive services at a CVS Minute Clinic at no cost to you. To view a list of MinuteClinic services, which includes minor illnesses/injuries, screenings, and wellness visits, among others, visit https://www.cvs.com/minuteclinic/services.
